Carmela Holt

Carmela Holt has been a successful Realtor® since 1980 and received her broker’s license in 1987. She was born, raised, and educated in New Jersey and received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Seton Hall University. Prior to real estate, she was an English teacher at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes and taught English as a second language in the Fort Lee Community School. She attended Berkeley College for Interior Design as an avocation and to enhance her skill set. Her keen eye for architecture and design has been a distinct asset in her real estate career.

Carmela has consistently devoted time to the local Board of Realtors® and has worked to elevate real estate industry standards. She has served terms on the Orientation Committee, the Professional Standards Committee, and the Fair Housing Committee. She chaired the Legal/ Professional Committee for over 20 years, where giving other Realtors® the tools to handle the “issues of the moment” became her pride and joy. She represented the West Bergen Board of Realtors® at the New Jersey Legal Task Force in 1995, working to format a state property disclosure form. She is currently serving on the Professional Standards Committee as a mediator and arbitrator.

Through her impressive career, Carmela has been awarded recognition for her excellence in sales by NJ Monthly Magazine and has achieved the NJ Realtors® Circle of Excellence Award from 1984-87, 89, 91, 97, 2005, and from 2009-2013, which ultimately led to her earning the NJ Realtors® Distinguished Sales Club Award. The prestigious accolade is a lifetime award presented to NJ Realtors® members who have been recipients of the Circle of Excellence® Sales Award® for 10 years. Carmela’s expertise extends from helping first time buyers to marketing and selling unique properties. She earned distinction in marketing luxury properties and uses the same attention to detail on all properties she sells at all price points.

Carmela has lived in Ridgewood since 1975 with her husband Bill where they raised their two daughters, Elaine and Natalie. She provides great insight into the area for her clients as a long-time Bergen County resident.
