As Sales Director of Maxwell-Baynes, Karin brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge built over twenty two years marketing wine and French property. During the past 16 years she has been based in France establishing not only an enviable professional reputation but also a command of the French language that places her in the class of fully bilingual. Maxwell-Baynes have defined their geographic market focus as the area up to 60 minutes drive from St Emilion. Inside this area Karin's knowledge of local wines, individual houses, estates and vineyards is unparalleled and has attracted international clientele, the press and distinguished business partners for many years.

Karin began her career in the UK where she formed a successful wine importing company developing an intimate knowledge of the wine industry. Moving to France in 1994 she changed her focus to property working as an Estate Agent with Agence Picon in Creon, where she quickly took a leadership role at the agency expanding their business to include international clients. Having built her client base and experience in the Entre Deux Mers she moved to the city of Bordeaux where she worked as an independent agent under Sodif Immobilier before forming her own company, Maxwell Properties, in 2006. Recognizing her local and international reputation, Knight Frank appointed her as their representative for the Gironde region. Shortly thereafter she strengthened her market position further by merging her operation with Douglas Storrie and Michael Baynes. This brought about an expansion of her vision and increased coverage of the important markets of the City of London and the USA.

Karin has demonstrated throughout her career a skill with people, a competitive spirit and yet a generosity that often goes well beyond the call of duty.

A keen tennis player and skier she is also well travelled and has spent time in Canada and the US where she earned her professional Tennis Registry Diploma. Her travels have included visits to Hong Kong, South Africa and New Zealand, however, she is never happier than amongst the vines at her home near Rauzan with her Bordelais husband Nicolas.
