I began visiting the Keys, with my family, in the late 70Æs, a time when the Upper Keys was really a small town.áá I have witnessed many changes to the landscape of the islands and the diversity of its residents. I made the move to Florida to attend college at Florida International University where I majored in mass communications/broadcast journalism.á Just as I was about to graduate, I met my husband, Rick Miller who is a successful backcountry fishing guide.á His business and his love of the water led us to make Islamorada our home.ááWe have three children, Meghan, Melina and Miles who are typical Keys kids.á They enjoy fishing, boating and watching the sun set.á Two of our children are competitive springboard divers which has allotted us the opportunity to develop relationships with many non-Florida residents.á Prior to entering the real estate world, I was employed by a law firm as a legal assistant and office manager.á áShortly after the birth of our third child, I left the law firm and entered the real estate world as a property appraiser.á My experience as an appraiser has increased my knowledge of the history of a large number of Upper Keys properties.áCommunity service is an essential part of my life.áá I have been a member of the Upper Keys Business and Professional WomenÆs organization for the past 10 years.á I have served on the Board of Directors and I have chaired the auction committee.á I am a graduate of Leadership Monroe Class VIII and I have served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Monroe.á For the past 8 years, I have served on the Village of IslamoradaÆs Parks and Recreation committee. áI am a member of the Plantation Key School Advisory Committee and the Coral Shores High School Advisory Committee. Hobbies/Interests: I am an avid reader.á I spend my spare time improving my cooking and baking skills.á I also enjoy teaching children how to cook.á I also enjoy coaching an Odyssey of the Mind team.
