Mike's Grandfather opened his real estate and insurance company in 1940 and his father opened Eugene M. Riccio Assoc. Inc. 1983 (Real Estate and Appraisal company). A Lansdale Borough, PA Councilman from 2007-2011, he was also on the Board of Directors for the North Penn Senior Center (aka PEAK center). During the time he was a board member he completed a joint venture project to raise funds and build a multi-purpose facility for 4 non-profit organizations.
The non-profits were the YMCA, NP Senior Center, Advanced Living for Seniors and Manna on Main Street. The objective was to combine the fund-raising ability and combine their services, instead of competing against each other, to better serve the community.
He was appointed to the Montgomery County Board of View 2004-2010, a non-binding arbitration board that heard and rendered non-binding decisions for eminent domain cases. He was also Chairman of the Lansdale Code Committee (Zoning), where he revised the entire zoning code to be more business friendly to accommodate downtown revitalization and residential neighborhood conformity and infill development as well as underutilized commercial and industrial sites throughout the borough.
Mike was also the Chairman of Lansdale Public Works, a Past President of the Analomink Rod and Gun Club from 2010-2016, and a Volunteer at the Naples Zoo from 2017-2018.
