Alexis Zheng

Following my graduate study at University of Chicago on the subject of financial mathematics, I started a professional career of fixed income trading, right around the time of the infamous financial crisis of 2008. It was a tough time in finance and in the market in general, but I had passion for what I did, worked very hard and became one of the best traders at the company that I worked for. I enjoyed the fast pace environment, the challenge, and the high stress high reward nature of the work. Being a successful trader was exhilarating but in some sense I always felt that something was missing.

After 10 years of trading, I let my mind wander and began to discover things that I'm also passionate about. I always had an interest in real estate ownership and investment. Maybe it's the Chinese in me I'm not sure. What I know is real estate is one of the biggest asset classes for investing. Ownership is often personal and rewarding. It offers protection against inflation. It's a real asset, but not a liquid asset. Investing in real estate often involves more physical and concrete work than just clicking a few clicks on computer. The transactions take longer to complete and involve often times lengthy processes and multiple parties. But ownership comes with pride and sense of security. And because of the complexity of tax laws, combined with low down payment mortgages, there're multiple ways real estate ownership/investment can be beneficial and money-making.

Establishing personal contact and building meaningful relationships has also become increasingly essential to me. Many of us today have a computer facing job, and in fact I worked from home a lot which means there really wasn't that much human interaction. Being a social person, I was craving more communications and connections with people, and ways to help others. Being a real estate agent is a perfect meeting ground for both of my passions!

As your real estate agent, I would put my knowledge to use, always strive to achieve the best result for you (my client). I would work with you, as you go through life changing events or important life stages, understanding along the way what your real estate needs are, help you make important buying, selling, or renting decisions, and help you and your family achieve your goals!
