Neighborhoods
The community, which is represented by Seabolt Brokers LLC, features 400 single-family homesites in six distinct and sensitively developed neighborhoods. The plan encourages a “sense of place” and preserves the estate’s wooded parklands and scenic vistas. Architectural guidelines encourage the friendly scale and unpretentious elegance of small-town coastal Georgia and historic Southern homes.

Lots for sale range from 1 to 15 acres. Home options include waterfront homes, golf-course homes, or residences built in the privacy of the woods. Single-family homes for sale at The Ford Plantation range from just under $1 million to over $4 million; homesites can be found from $200,000 to over $2 million. Cherry Hill
The centerpiece of Cherry Hill Village is Oak Alleé, a double row of majestic live oaks that lead to The Ford Plantation Clubhouse. Cherry Hill Village is designed to be reminiscent of a typical southern community. Located in close proximity to all of the Club’s unique amenities and created in the Low Country vernacular, these freestanding homes represent low-maintenance living with features such as comfortable porches, lively roof lines, and relaxed interior plans. Architectural designs of one-and-a-half- and two-story homes range from 1,000 to 2,800 square feet.

McAllister Point
Named for nearby Fort McAllister, where General William Tecumseh Sherman ended his famous “March to the Sea,” McAllister Point occupies a special place on The Ford Plantation. A site with great natural beauty, the property includes centuries-old live oak and magnolia trees. Sterling Creek flows past on its way to the Ogeechee River. Antebellum rice fields, teeming with plant and animal life, surround three sides of the property. Located at the eastern end of The Ford Plantation, McAllister Point is a community planned for 24-free-standing Charleston-style garden homes centered around a shady commons with an octagonal gazebo.

McAllister Point is designed to give residents the same sense of community that typifies the neighborhoods and public squares of Charleston and Savannah. Owners can choose from architectural designs ranging from 2,100 to 4,000 square feet that include a multi-storied porch or piazza from where they can enjoy the superb views. Most homesites allow for rear gardens or guest cottages.
Silk Hope Harbour

Overlooking The Ford Plantation’s marina, a row of clapboard cottages with two-story porches are envisioned, typifying the community’s unpretentious charm. Here a coastal village is proposed, modeled after those that were once the centers of small-town life on the eastern seaboard. The deepwater marina was once the yacht basin for Henry Ford’s beloved cruiser, Little Lulu, and is now able to accommodate vessels of up to 65 feet in length. Some homesites look out at the back nine of the Pete Dye designed golf course, while most have wonderful views of Lake Clara or the Ogeechee River, making Silk Hope Harbour the neighborhood of choice for those who love living near the water.

Silk Hope Plantation
In the 1750s, Silk Hope Plantation became one of the most important rice plantations on the Ogeechee River under the ownership of Charleston merchant and American Revolutionary patriot Thomas Savage. Originally purchased by Henry Ford in 1925, today this historic property is being transformed into a unique neighborhood of Low Country cottages.

Approached by winding country lanes, Silk Hope Plantation is nestled in the shade of an oak forest that includes many of the estate’s oldest and largest trees. It is located conveniently close to several lakes, a bridle path, a duck and wildlife habitat, the Pete Dye–designed golf course, and the deepwater marina.

Pecan Grove Estates
Pecan Grove Estates range from 1.5 to 5 acres. Located at the southwest corner of the 1,800 acre property, the Pecan Grove Paddock Estates neighborhood is surrounded by a nature preserve and is adjacent to bridle paths that connect to the Plantation’s extensive trail system.

Houses can range up to a maximum of 6,000 square feet and there is no minimum square footage requirement, which has allowed a number of property owners to build guest houses or carriage houses to suit their current needs, with plans to build a main house later on. The community allows a variety of house designs indigenous to the area.

Estate Sites
Throughout The Ford Plantation are estate homesites ranging from 1 to 15 acres, in a variety of settings. Many have waterfront views of Lake Clara or the Ogeechee River or may front the Pete Dye–designed golf course. The primary houses here can range up to a maximum of 6,000 square feet (there is no minimum square footage requirement) and can accommodate a variety of house designs indigenous to the area. Homeowners can add additional structures such as a carriage house, separate guest house, or a stable on certain designated homesites.
